TRUTH IN HEBREW

The preceding illustrations have been for simple action words and nouns with a concrete reference. It seems probable however that even for abstract words there must be associated gestures since these also are formed of speech sounds which have associated movement elements. Except for the Basque word BURU the illustrative words have been drawn from the central group of languages (English, Japanese, French etc.). This page accordingly illustrates the associated gesture for an abstract word TRUTH in English and Hebrew. Hebrew belongs to the group of languages with a LOW mind/brain reference point.

Applying the sound/movement elements forming the word, the gesture associated with the English word TRUTH is:

The Hebrew word for truth is transliterated as EMET. If the CENTRAL speech sound/movement elements system is applied to the word EMET this produces the gesture:

which is similar to but not the same as the gesture for TRUTH.
